About the Role
The Therapeutic Children's Residential Group of Prowo Berlin in southern Berlin offers children aged 5 to 13 a reliable and safe environment in a large house with a garden. Seven children are cared for who have experienced boundary violations, neglect, or relationship breakdowns. In our facility, children experience stabilizing structures and a regulated daily routine, where they can process their trauma with professional support and gradually achieve age-appropriate developmental tasks. As an educator in our team, you will support the children in discovering their individual strengths, qualities, and future prospects.
Responsibilities
- Care and support of children within the key worker system in shift work
- Structuring a daily routine and promoting individual development and social skills
- Planning and conducting activities and group sessions
- De-escalation and crisis intervention
- Participation in the support plan process and process analysis
- Collaboration with parents, youth welfare offices, schools, and other cooperation partners
Requirements
- Professional qualification as an educator, remedial teacher, or childhood educator
- Basic understanding of trauma and its consequences or willingness to undergo further training
- Patience and empathy to take the next step together in difficult processes
- Appreciation for how children cope with their difficult experiences
Skills
- Experience in working with children and adolescents in difficult psychological situations is advantageous

- Salary based on TV-L SuE 2025 S8b plus evening, night, and holiday surcharges
