About the Role

The School of STEM is seeking passionate Computing Lecturers to join their innovative team within the Department of Computing & Technology. Lecturers will design and deliver cutting-edge programmes to meet evolving employer needs and prepare graduates for future challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and dynamic lectures both face-to-face and online for blended and distance learning students.
  • Take on module leadership, ensuring consistent quality and development of learning materials and schemes of work.
  • Oversee assessment marking, create authentic assessments, and provide high-quality feedback.
  • Lead or support the creation of new programmes and refresh existing ones to align with industry trends and employer requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide academic advice and support to students.
  • Drive innovation in teaching methods, student support, and assessment techniques.

Requirements

  • A Master’s Degree or equivalent professional qualification in a Computing Science or related discipline.
  • Act as a Named PAC: Manage a defined caseload of students, acting as their primary academic point of contact.
  • Proven experience in delivering engaging teaching across Levels 4 to 7 in at least 3 of the following areas: Programming (Python, Java), Database, Operating Systems/Networking, Digital Business/Ethics, IT Project Management, Data Analysis/Big Data/AI, Cloud Computing, HCI/UX/Web Development, Cyber Security.
  • Ideally, industry experience in the subject relevant to the teaching area.
  • Experience in using diverse teaching techniques in both face-to-face teaching and online platforms.

  • £43,389 – £47,728 (+£4,000 London Weighting) per annum
