About the Role
NG Bailey is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to oversee the maintenance of a new commercial building on a long-term client contract in Moorgate, London.
Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards and Health and Safety at Work Act requirements.
- Maintain onsite Quality Assurance procedures and associated documentation for mechanical/HVAC systems.
- Assist with fault diagnosis and setup of BMS and Control Systems for mechanical plant and equipment.
- Supervise the team, including conducting safety briefings, absence reporting, performance reviews, and approving leave and timesheets.
- Plan and arrange staff training to support their development.
- Ensure high-standard repairs to HVAC plant and associated systems.
- Perform and oversee installation, alteration, and repair of pipework systems to minimize downtime.
- Provide on-the-job training and development to the team.
- Respond promptly to Helpdesk-related reactive maintenance issues for heating, ventilation, pumps, water tanks, valves, and pipework.
- Utilize necessary systems and portals, including CAFM, to capture work output.
- Manage the supply chain through regular reviews and interaction, particularly for quoted/project works.
- Effectively manage spares and order necessary parts to complete tasks on time.
Requirements
- Experienced Contract Supervisor with a high standard of building services provision and customer service.
- Current qualifications to work as a Mechanical engineer.
- NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 - Plumbing, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning 6187 or similar.
- Experienced in electrical and mechanical aspects of general building service, repair, and installation.
- Exceptional knowledge and experience working with and repairing Mechanical Systems and Heating and Ventilation Systems.
- Knowledge of electrical principles including safe isolation, controls, and basic fault finding.
- Experience using BMS to fault find issues.
- Experience working with a large team of varying abilities.
