About the Role
The Product Manager will have full ownership of various product categories, responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and execution plan. This role will establish 'Where to Play', 'How to Win', and required 'Capabilities & Tracking' to achieve specific financial targets.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of product and vendor management including strategy, demand creation programs, financials, cross-functional and vendor relationships, product selection, negotiation, and deal closure.
- Manage financials including sales results, item lifecycle, returns, margins, program dollars, terms and conditions, and corporate goals.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the assigned product line.
- Analyze product category performance and make decisions to maximize sales and income performance.
- Develop product plans and strategy for stakeholders to ensure understanding and alignment.
- Create, manage, and track product promotions.
- Own the cost management process including negotiations, vendor compliance, and system implementation.
- Review and approve requests for new items to be added to the product offering, ensuring appropriate vendor selection and profitability metrics are met.
- Manage the quality and performance of assigned products using a Supplier Vendor Scorecard.
- Manage detailed projects across many departments within the organization.
Requirements
- Experience owning senior and executive supplier relationships.
- Experience optimizing portfolio assortments.
- Experience leading major contract negotiations.
- Experience serving as the category source of truth for market, competitive, and industry insights.
- Proven ability to operate as a category P&L owner.
- Proven ability to lead through influence at enterprise scale.
- Experience of planning, managing, and organizing resources within short/medium timescales within the overall policy framework.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
- Basic experience of simple office/operational systems.
- Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills.
- Experience of interpreting strategy and policy in order to set and deliver objectives.
- Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).
