About the Role

Seeking an exceptional general practitioner with a strong commitment to medical education to provide academic leadership for the primary care curriculum and its quality assurance across the MBBS programme.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, delivery, review and enhancement of taught primary care education, including seminars, tutorials, case-based learning, student-selected components and digital learning resources.
  • Ensure primary care teaching is coherent, inclusive and appropriately aligned with programme outcomes, GMC requirements and the Medical Licensing Assessment.
  • Assure and improve the quality of primary care teaching and placements.
  • Use student feedback and other quality data to inform improvement.
  • Support GP tutors and placement practices.
  • Contribute to tutor development.
  • Contribute to the primary care contribution to programme evaluation and GMC quality-monitoring processes.

Requirements

  • Qualified general practitioner, on the performers list, currently engaged in clinical work as a salaried GP or partner.
  • Significant experience in teaching and designing educational programmes.
  • Track record of innovation and scholarship in medical education.
  • An educational qualification.
  • Passion for high quality student education.
  • Strong organisational, time-management, project management skills.
