About the Role
Arthur D. Little's Innovation practice in London is seeking an experienced Engagement Manager to lead assignments focused on innovation, growth, science, technology, and R&D. The role involves delivering strategy consulting and transformation work for innovation, R&D, and related technical functions, primarily for large blue-chip companies. The team collaborates with digital transformation specialists to enhance client productivity and performance through digital tools. Managers will own project delivery, manage teams, and participate in business development activities.
Responsibilities
- Lead workstreams of consultants and analysts in client assignment delivery, reporting to a Partner.
- Actively participate in business development, including sales, lead generation, and networking.
- Prepare proposals and pitches.
- Develop and coach junior colleagues.
- Contribute to the Practice's intellectual capital through solution offerings, thought leadership, and conferences.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in innovation and R&D strategy, product and portfolio strategy/development, operating model design, organizational change/transformation, innovation/R&D performance/productivity improvement, new growth opportunity identification, and digital enablement of innovation/technology/R&D.
- Previous experience in a business or management role is highly desirable.
- Experience in consumer goods, manufacturing, engineering, chemicals, materials, life sciences, or energy sectors is preferred; telecoms and transport are also relevant.
- At least 2 years of work experience in a consulting environment is ideal, but industry experience in a relevant role is also welcomed.
- Maturity, experience, and confidence to manage consulting teams and deliver strategy assignments at senior levels.
- Intellectual curiosity with specific technical expertise.
- Highly motivated, energetic, entrepreneurial, hard-working, and creative.
- Aptitude for client relationship building and motivation for selling and business development.
- Commitment to the highest professional standards of quality and integrity.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to be a team player.
- Some international travel should be expected.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK; visa sponsoring is not offered.
