About the Role

We're hiring an exceptional Infrastructure Engineer to build the systems that turn Ironsite's data into the intelligence layer we're building. You'll own the backbone that connects wearable devices to AI systems, from device-to-cloud ingestion to petabyte-scale video pipelines and compute orchestration. The systems you build will determine our scaling speed, model learning speed, and the extent to which we can make the physical world legible.

Responsibilities

Build the device-to-cloud ingestion layer for reliable, high-throughput data transfer from wearable devices in challenging environments.
Develop petabyte-scale video pipelines for ingesting, processing, storing, and serving millions of hours of first-person video.
Implement and optimize vision-language model inference across edge devices, on-premises rigs, and cloud clusters.
Create the research compute platform, serving as the substrate for AI team training and evaluation.
Develop automated reporting infrastructure to deliver AI-powered insights to field leaders daily.
Implement privacy and compliance controls, including automated face and phone blurring and worker anonymization.
Ensure edge reliability at scale through monitoring, observability, and resilience patterns for continuously operating devices.

Requirements

Deep infrastructure experience across cloud, distributed systems, and the intersection with hardware and edge devices.
Proven track record of architecting and shipping scalable data or ML training pipelines.
Strong systems thinking across the full stack, from IoT/embedded to cloud/HPC.
Comfort operating at the edge of known solutions and figuring things out.
Typically 8+ years of experience, with at least 3-4 spent at Staff/Principal level.
