About the Role
Lead and manage the delivery of strategic and operational programs and initiatives within the Financial Operations Branch to ensure compliance with internal and external drivers, policies, practices and relevant statutory requirements. This incorporates oversight of financial systems, payroll management, taxation, accounting transactions, business processes, audit, accounts payables and receivables, revenue accounting, and accounts reconciliation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the delivery of strategic and operational programs and initiatives within the Financial Operations Branch.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external drivers, policies, practices and relevant statutory requirements.
- Oversee financial systems, payroll management, taxation, accounting transactions, and business processes.
- Manage audit, accounts payables and receivables, revenue accounting, and accounts reconciliation.
Requirements
- Experienced leader with a proven record of achievement in executive-level leadership within financial services.
- Extensive knowledge of legislation, policy and procedures governing public sector financial management and accounting practices.
- Comprehensive understanding of the practical application of financial management.
- Extensive knowledge of financial management, accounting, assurance and system or process improvement.
- Demonstrated experience successfully applying financial expertise in a complex operating environment.
- Substantial leadership and people management experience within a finance portfolio.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, build capability and drive service improvement.
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting and membership of relevant professional body.
