About the Role
Join Deloitte's Engineering Practice in Australia to lead teams building cloud and AI solutions on AWS for major organizations. You will shape secure platform foundations, guide cloud-native engineering decisions, and solve complex technology challenges with practical, scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead teams building cloud and AI solutions on AWS for major organizations.
- Shape secure platform foundations.
- Guide cloud-native engineering decisions.
- Help clients solve complex technology challenges with practical, scalable solutions.
- Design multi-account AWS environments using Control Tower or Landing Zone Accelerator.
- Stand up Bedrock agents, design RAG architectures, and review code and AI-assisted outputs.
- Translate business needs into technical direction and delivery outcomes.
- Strengthen Deloitte's broader engineering capability through mentoring, reusable assets, and contributions to AWS, cloud and AI offerings.
Requirements
- 6-10 years' experience in AWS cloud engineering, solution architecture or technical leadership roles.
- Proven experience leading teams and delivering complex cloud or AI-enabled solutions in client-facing environments.
- Strong AWS architecture capability, including secure and scalable platform design aligned to the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Control Tower, Landing Zone Accelerator, Terraform or CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines, and container platforms such as EKS or ECS.
- Experience with Amazon Bedrock, including agents, knowledge bases and guardrails, plus an understanding of RAG architecture and LLM integration in production systems.
- Sound judgement when using AI-assisted SDLC tooling such as Amazon Q or GitHub Copilot, including the ability to verify outputs for security, correctness and production readiness.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Genuine interest in mentoring others and uplifting engineering standards.
- The preferred candidate will be subject to background screening by Deloitte or by their external third-party provider.
