About the Role
WFP Volunteer with the Private Partnership Team in the New York Office. This role involves providing general administrative and scheduling support, scoping events, researching potential partners, and developing follow-up systems. The volunteer will gain practical experience in humanitarian coordination, event management, and partner engagement.
Responsibilities
- Provide general admin and scheduling support, including follow-up from meetings and events, and preparations for upcoming visits, travel, meetings, and events.
- Scope events and fora for a yearly strategic engagement calendar for the USA market, including connecting dots.
- Research and map bundlers, aggregators, and transformational partners, focusing on new partners and sectors not yet tapped by the UN or WFP, including AI.
- Research matching and thematic fund approaches, including governance, structure, funding, aims, and relate them to US tax code provisions.
- Research informal coalitions, their workings, and potential learnings for WFP.
- Support prospecting High Net Worth individuals, corporates, and family offices in the American market.
- Develop a stronger follow-up system using Salesforce.
- Support connecting the dots between meetings, events, follow-up, and senior leadership engagement.
- Perform other research, administrative, and organizational duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree or enrollment in a degree program.
- Positive, ‘can-do’ attitude and a willingness to learn, engage, and problem-solve.
- Demonstrated interest in WFP and its mission.
- Experience beyond humanitarian issues (e.g., financial, marketing, business, culture, advertising) is a plus.
- Open mind to finding new ways of engaging and broadening partnerships across the USA to benefit WFP.
- Fluent in English.
- Competency in other WFP official and working languages is an asset.
