About the Role
As an Android Engineer on the Spend Squad, you will be responsible for shipping direct customer touch points on one of Wise's most impactful and high-growth products, contributing to the technical execution of our mobile product and working closely with backend, frontend, and product teams to deliver high-quality features.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to engineer-driven product initiatives, including implementation and technical planning of features.
- Support the development of the card product across product teams, working on key user flows like card ordering, transacting, 3DS authentication, and dispute resolution.
- Write clean, maintainable code on the Android platform and advocate for mobile best practices.
- Collaborate with the wider globally distributed tribe to ensure a seamless mobile experience.
- Influence one of Wise’s most recognisable and high-traffic products.
- Drive product evolution by actively contributing to strategic direction and technical roadmaps.
- Work in a healthy environment built on transparency, ownership, and trust.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience developing Android applications.
- Solid experience building, shipping, and maintaining high-performing apps on Android.
- Experience working with modern Android UI development (Jetpack Compose).
- A passion for customer experience, identifying and fixing customer pain-points using data to support technical decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical peers.
- A collaborative mindset, thriving in a globally distributed squad and tribe environment as a strong team player.
