Responsibilities

Support group leaders and program aides in assigned units by providing classroom assistance, managing participant behavior, and facilitating activities.
Act as a liaison between group leaders and program management.
Assist in planning and implementing theme-based projects and age-appropriate activities.
Maintain positive and cooperative relationships with host schools, parents, staff, and children.
Adhere strictly to University Settlement policies, procedures, and Department of Health guidelines.
Maintain professional conduct, including strict confidentiality of employee, youth, and program information.
Supervise assigned unit during arrival, snack time, and dismissal.
Maintain an inventory of program supplies and order supplies with Director approval.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, including Group Leader responsibilities.
Design and implement innovative, quality educational and recreational activities for youth.
Actively participate in program-wide or division-wide activities.
Supervise homework and other in-class activities.
Communicate effectively with families, teachers, staff, and children.
Attend regular staff meetings and trainings.
Track attendance, performance, and behavior through accurate record keeping.
Design and implement lesson plans that promote monthly themes.
Create a classroom environment conducive to working, learning, and creating.
Collaborate with on-site specialists.
Organize special events as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Associate degree in child development, Elementary Education, or a related field, OR a High School Diploma with two years of direct experience working with children under 13.
Experience working with parent groups (e.g., volunteer groups, PTAs, AmeriCorps teams).
Familiarity working with youth in various settings.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure.
Excellent organizational skills; ability to coordinate multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Must be able to serve as the 'Next Person In Charge' when the supervisor is unavailable.
Must be able to support the Site Supervisor in maintaining program integrity and partner relationships.
