About the Role

This is a Talent Pool recruitment for future Ongoing and Temporary opportunities within the Joint Child Protection Response Program (JCPRP), which links DCJ risk assessment and protective intervention with NSW Police criminal investigation and NSW Health services. The program delivers a multidisciplinary response to serious child abuse matters across NSW.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of caseworkers.
• Collaborate with NSW Police and NSW Health to provide coordinated services to vulnerable children, young people and families.
• Lead by example and demonstrate the principles of the Joint Child Protection Response Program.
• Work to meet program objectives.
• Value interagency partnership, workforce diversity and prioritise safety, welfare and wellbeing of children and young people.
• Ensure children and young people remain the focus of assessments and decisions.
• Make decisions to ensure children are protected from further trauma and receive necessary support services.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, Welfare or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in applying best practice casework with children, young people and their families.
• Experience leading and managing teams in complex and challenging situations, including a high-volume work area.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• A valid driver’s licence.
• Ability to pass a National Criminal History Record Check.
• Ability to pass a Working with Children Check clearance.
