About the Role

This internship offers an engaging work experience where you can apply analytical skills and passion for markets at a leading investment firm, experiencing the dynamic nature of the trading floor environment. You will work side by side with experienced investment professionals and recent graduates in a friendly and open environment with a strong learning culture. Interns have access to industry tools, research, and the opportunity to interact with traders, portfolio managers, and economic researchers.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and reporting on key drivers of risk, exposures, and profit/loss across various strategies and managers.
  • Conducting research for new and current investment strategies.
  • Building analytical tools.
  • Learning about the hedge fund industry and trading strategies across various asset classes through interfacing with hedge fund managers.
  • Participating in a term-length portfolio management case to develop and test investment skills.
  • Attending networking and lunch-and-learn sessions to explore the work of other groups.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated passion and curiosity for financial markets and investments.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Basic programming skills (such as Python).
  • Entrepreneurial thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a stimulating environment and collaborate with peers and managers.
  • Developing leader with excellent analytical, social, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, with phenomenal time management, leadership skills, and work ethic.
  • Must be enrolled in 3rd / 4th year of an Undergraduate program or a related Masters’ program.
  • Must be enrolled in a co-op program or returning to studies after the work term.
  • Eligible candidates will be invited to complete a short coding assessment.
  • Candidates must be legally entitled to work in the country where the role is located.
