About the Role

As an intern within the Business Insights and Analytics team, you will utilize your technical and business skills to extract, analyze, and present key insights and reports to support the delivery of outstanding service to members. You will have the freedom to choose from a variety of projects, using diverse technical and analytical methods to tackle real-world business questions. Collaborate to drive the team’s role as a centre of expertise in business intelligence models, predictive analytics, reporting frameworks, and ad hoc analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and utilize processes and methodologies to glean insights into client segments, including attitudes, behaviors, needs, and wants, and share insights for cross-functional understanding.
  • Automate existing and new processes using Python, APIs, or other software for data analysis, tracking, and maintenance.
  • Utilize Business Intelligence Tools to manage the collection, analysis, and communication of insights to enable informed decision-making, forecasting, and monitoring of client experience improvements.
  • Support multi-channel tracking and analytics (web, telephone, email, etc.).
  • Manipulate data and draw conclusions using technical and business skills to provide actionable, audience-specific recommendations.
  • Work cross-functionally as part of larger project teams to deliver against corporate scorecard initiatives.
  • Provide monthly reporting on key performance indicators and statistics.

Requirements

  • Pursuit of a University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative/research field.
  • Intermediate coding experience (algorithm design, object-oriented programming, data structures) in any language.
  • Ability to learn programming languages, business intelligence tools, and other software quickly.
  • Strong analytical, data manipulation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to distill insights and assess opportunities.
  • Experience in statistics, research, and data analysis.
  • Passion for research methodologies, exploratory data analyses, predictive modelling, segmentation, user experience, and web analytics.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be enrolled in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of a degree program or a related Master’s program.
  • Must be enrolled in a co-op program or returning to studies after the work term.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in the country where the role is located.
