About the Role
Private Capital is seeking 4 Interns to join its Direct Investing team. This role offers a structured training program designed to equip interns with skills for a career in high finance and direct principal investing. Interns will work with Analysts, Associates, and Principals, gaining exposure to senior leadership and investment committee meetings.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic support to existing portfolio companies to enhance growth prospects.
- Support team members in diligence and execution of new investments or divestitures.
- Assist team members with research to develop views on investable sectors, companies, or trends.
- Monitor and value existing investments.
- Evaluate new investment opportunities.
- Conduct industry research.
- Prepare internal investment memorandums.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in 2nd-4th year of a relevant undergraduate degree program.
- Must be enrolled in a co-op program or returning to studies after the work term.
- Candidates must be legally entitled to work in the country where the role is located.
- In addition to resume and transcripts, include a copy of your cover letter.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong research, quantitative and analytical skills
- Familiarity with financial modelling are assets
- Keen interest in investing
