About the Role
GWA Group is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join their North Sydney team on a part-time (4 days per week) basis. This pivotal role involves providing trusted legal advice across corporate, commercial, governance, regulatory, and strategic matters, helping the business navigate risk while enabling growth and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Advising on complex commercial and corporate matters
- Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements
- Supporting governance, compliance and company secretarial activities
- Contributing to M&A, strategic projects and corporate transactions
- Managing disputes and engaging with external legal advisers
- Driving continuous improvement across legal processes, templates and playbooks
Requirements
- Australian-admitted lawyer with 5+ years' post-admission experience
- Experience gained in-house, within a top-tier firm, or another sophisticated legal environment
- Strong commercial acumen
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Ability to provide practical, solutions-focused advice that supports business outcomes
- Experience within an ASX-listed environment, governance, compliance or company secretarial matters will be highly regarded
- Must be a citizen, permanent resident or hold all relevant employment visas and approvals for the location and duration of this position
