About the Role

The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Sciences is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Lecturer in Social Work to shape the future of social work education and practice. You will teach and supervise students, provide leadership in the Master of Social Work (Qualifying) course, and contribute to research and scholarship. Collaborate with colleagues and partners to ensure graduates are equipped to address contemporary social challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Delivering high-impact education and personalized support to a diverse student cohort.
  • Providing leadership in the delivery and ongoing development of the Master of Social Work (Qualifying) course.
  • Inspiring and mentoring the next generation of social workers.
  • Contributing to high-impact research and scholarship.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, industry and community partners.

Requirements

  • A doctoral qualification (PhD) in a discipline relevant to Social Work.
  • A Bachelor of Social Work or Master of Social Work (Qualifying), with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, with experience in multi-modal delivery strategies for student support.
  • Demonstrated experience in a management level position relating to Social Work.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to pursue a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching/Education.
  • Awareness of current professional and educational issues in the field.
  • Proven research track record through recent published research outputs with the ability to contribute to research in the school.
  • Satisfactory pre-employment checks, which may include a National Police Check and/or Working with Children Check (where applicable).
  • Applicants may be required to declare any past or current allegations, investigations or findings relating to gender-based violence.
  • The successful candidate may also be required to demonstrate that they meet the “fit and proper person” criteria as required under applicable legislation and regulatory frameworks (including ASQA requirements where relevant).

Salary/Compensations

  • $166,553 to $189,070 pa (including salary of $140,740 to $159,767 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading)
