About the Role

Jericho Project is seeking an experienced Handyman for a full-time position at West Tremont Avenue. This role involves performing a variety of repair and maintenance tasks in a building with 79 studios for adults. The Handyman will support the maintenance team and ensure the upkeep of the property.

Responsibilities

• Assist the maintenance team with necessary tasks to expedite projects, including unit turnovers for lease-up, under the supervision of the Superintendent.
• Perform ongoing preventive maintenance as directed by supervisor, including carpentry, painting, and cleaning.
• Be accountable for work performed and materials and supplies used.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience with flooring, drywall repair, sealing and caulking, furniture assembly, appliance installation, apartment clean-outs, and heavy lifting.
• Knowledge of relevant NYC housing building and maintenance rules, regulations, and codes.
• Ability to receive and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Ability to make clear and concise decisions quickly and effectively.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing to be readily understood by others.
• Ability to work harmoniously with others.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to travel to various sites.
• Ability to speak, hear, see, and write.
• Ability to use a computer and related software programs.
• Willingness to commit to longer weekday/weekend commitments for business projects or deliverables.
