About the Role

VIZ Media, the world leader in English-language versions of manga and anime, is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to ensure accurate and timely reporting, support data-driven decision-making, and develop/maintain models for financial plans and forecasts.

Responsibilities

• Partner with publishing and animation teams to analyze sales and P&L performance versus various financial benchmarks
• Collaborate with accounting team to support month-end and quarter-end close
• Provide monthly and quarterly financial reporting, analysis, and key metrics that enable business decision-making
• Work with cross-functional teams and senior leaders to support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
• Create financial models and perform profitability analyses to support strategic planning and evaluate new business opportunities
• Monitor and track key financial metrics, and effectively communicate insights to stakeholders
• Identify areas for process improvement and support the implementation of best practices in FP&A processes to increase efficiency and improve business outcomes
• Provide financial insight, and prepare dashboards and presentations for leadership team
• Stay up to date on industry and market trends to inform financial planning and analysis
• Perform ad hoc requests and drive cross-functional analytic projects for senior management

Requirements

• 2+ years of finance experience or related forecast/planning experience
• Strong business acumen with high intellectual curiosity
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Team player mindset with ability to work cross functionally to solve complex issues
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel to analyze complex business scenarios by building financial models
• Experience working with large datasets
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness
• Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field, or equivalent experience, with a record that demonstrates suitable preparation for this position
• Experience in media/entertainment/publishing industry
• Interest in anime and/or manga
• Experience with top ERP systems (e.g. Netsuite, Oracle, SAP) and data analytics software (e.g. Essbase)
• Applicants should be willing to work with content such as sexually explicit images, nudity, and graphic violence.
