About the Role

This role supports the Maritime Spatial Planning/Marine Protected Areas/Multi-Use (3M) team in managing EU-wide projects and providing advice to national governments. The position focuses on project communications, management, and administrative tasks within a dynamic environment dedicated to restoring seas and oceans and promoting a sustainable blue economy.

Responsibilities

  • Support project communications, including social media management and content creation (LinkedIn, Instagram).
  • Develop and manage website content.
  • Create simple graphics for social media visuals.
  • Develop presentations, brochures, and newsletters.
  • Support project management and administration, including conducting desk research.
  • Organize data in spreadsheets using Excel.
  • Assist in organizing in-person and online events and meetings.
  • Perform general office and administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a university in Germany or an EU citizen enrolled in a university in the EU, preferably in Communications or a related field.
  • Available for at least 3 months full-time, ideally starting in September or October.
  • Seeking a mandatory internship that is part of your degree.
  • Able to relocate to Berlin for the duration of the internship.
  • Proficient in English; German or another European language is a plus.
  • Digital native with good knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience and knowledge in Social Media Management and creating Instagram Reels.
  • Ability to create attractive digital content using tools like Canva, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, or Illustrator.
  • Capacity to digest and summarize complex information into clear, concise messages for different target audiences.
  • Fast learner, able to switch between conflicting tasks and priorities.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented.
  • Motivated, flexible, and open-minded.
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural environment.
  • Effective communication skills and enjoyment of teamwork.
  • General understanding of European political processes and institutions related to sustainability, climate, and environmental protection is a plus but not mandatory.
