About the Role
BluePearl Pet Hospital in Midtown, NY is seeking a skilled and compassionate Relief Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. This role involves providing critical care in an emergency setting, utilizing advanced medical knowledge and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
- Triage emergency cases, including obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
- Perform digital radiography using proper technique and patient positioning.
- Demonstrate a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs.
- Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting the Veterinarian to changes.
- Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
- Properly calculate medical math, including constant rate infusions, and administer medications.
- Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
- Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
- Mentor and train co-workers.
- Address client concerns with patience and empathy.

- Competitive shift differentials for nights and weekends
- Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum
- Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = +$4.50/hr. Shift Differential
- Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = +$4.50/hr. Shift Differential
- Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = +$8.00/hr. Shift Differential
