About the Role
The Public Engagement team at the Center for AI Safety (CAIS) aims to make AI safety understandable, urgent, and personal. This role will translate ambitious strategies into accessible campaigns and programs for a mainstream audience, taking ownership of go-to-market execution from concept to measurement.
Responsibilities
- Turn ambiguity into clarity by developing a crisp point of view on complex research, ideas, or initiatives.
- Drive launches as a system, defining success, sequencing workstreams, and ensuring alignment of story, assets, partners, and proof points.
- Own go-to-market execution for Public Engagement campaigns, programs, research launches, and major initiatives.
- Produce briefs, narratives, talking points, FAQs, partner materials, creator toolkits, web pages, and other necessary assets.
- Orchestrate launches across creative, content, communications, partnerships, research, agencies, vendors, and external collaborators.
- Own external agencies and vendors, providing clear direction and maintaining a high creative bar.
- Help build and operate programs such as CAIS’s creator initiatives.
- Maintain a real-time understanding of the audience and external conversation to ensure narrative accuracy and persuasiveness.
- Define and track meaningful measures of success, learn from launches, and create reusable playbooks.
- Directly produce work, including writing, building, coordinating, or shipping, as needed.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in product marketing or integrated campaign management, with end-to-end launch ownership as an individual contributor.
- Track record of independently driving an established strategy through execution and launch.
- Proven experience owning positioning and messaging across different audiences and use cases.
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex subjects across various formats.
- Strong operational skills for coordinating internal teams, agencies, vendors, partners, and deadlines.
- Strong creative judgment and ability to provide useful direction and feedback to creative partners.
- Demonstrated systems thinking, building repeatable playbooks and processes.
- Comfort operating autonomously as a senior individual contributor and directly producing work.
- Ability to move quickly while maintaining a high bar for quality.
- Genuine interest in AI safety and willingness to develop technical and policy fluency.
