About the Role

Solicit legal expertise to make a real difference for the people of NSW. Multiple temporary full-time vacancies are available for up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension. Roles are in the Estate Management and Project Team practice groups, providing high-quality legal advice, litigation support, and practical solutions across financial management, guardianship, succession, and trusts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned legal matters, including advice, transactions, and litigation, within a specialist practice group.
  • Deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and customer-focused legal services that support the agency’s purpose and functions.
  • Appear in Supreme Court Protective List proceedings and matters before the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
  • Manage legal matters affecting customers whose estates are under management, including equitable remedies, personal injury, family law, and administrative law.
  • Provide technical advice and support for complex legal matters or issues.
  • Undertake individual and group matters related to both functions.

Requirements

  • Completion of a law degree from an accredited law school or completion of the Legal Practitioners Admission Board’s Diploma in Law Course.
  • Admitted as a legal practitioner in NSW and hold a current NSW practicing certificate.
  • Ability to appear before courts and tribunals.
  • Ability to manage complex, contentious, and sensitive legal and administrative matters.
  • Ability to maintain knowledge across a wide range of relevant areas of law.
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or a permanent resident.

Salary/Compensations

  • $81,702 p.a. to $138,492 p.a. plus 12% superannuation and annual leave loading
