About the Role
The Rapid Rehousing Specialist(s) will assist homeless Transition Age Youth ages 18-24 in obtaining and maintaining permanent housing. Specialists will provide supportive services, including life skills assessment and training, referrals, and support to ensure self-sufficiency and housing stability. The role involves assisting clients with apartment searches, landlord relations, and setting up apartments. Approximately 50 youth will be served annually.
Responsibilities
- Crisis intervention and response
- Outreach, Screening, Intake and Assessment
- Coordination, development, implementation and assessment of client's case management needs, service and plans
- Referral readiness, information and facilitation
- Case specific youth advocacy
- Transporting program participants
- Possesses sound problem solving and decision-making skills
- Assist in setting up housing
- Strength-based service delivery (youth leadership & asset development)
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Education or related field AND 1 year experience OR Equivalent Work history Experience / Master's Degree preferred
- A valid Driver's license
Skills
- Case management techniques and intervention
- Knowledge of homeless/runway youth service system and community resources
- Knowledge of independent living skills, curricula and teaching approaches
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
