About the Role

A family in Brooklyn, NY seeks an experienced, energetic, and reliable nanny for their two children (ages 4 and 20 months). The family speaks Finnish and English and desires a long-term nanny who is nurturing, patient, and genuinely enjoys engaging with children. The ideal candidate is positive, proactive, organized, physically active, and calm under pressure, with a passion for sports, outdoor play, and creative activities.

Responsibilities

Provide attentive, hands-on care for two young children
Plan engaging, screen-free activities, including sports, outdoor play, crafts, reading, and play-dates
Encourage positive peer interaction and friendships
Support school drop-offs/pickups and navigate NYC via public transportation
Meal plan and prep children's meals and snacks; assist with feeding
Pack lunches for school
Support naps, bedtime, hygiene, and toilet training
Maintain a safe and stimulating environment
Encourage social, emotional, and developmental growth
Keep children’s spaces and belongings organized
Represent the family professionally in school and social settings
Travel domestically with the family as needed

Requirements

Prior experience in a similar role
Minimum of 2 years living in NYC and strong knowledge of navigating the city and all transportation methods
CPR/First Aid certified
Must be able to swim
Physically capable and comfortable in a five-level home with no elevator
Excellent judgment, reliability, communication, and discretion
Comfortable working alongside a stay-at-home parent and a parent who works from home while maintaining appropriate boundaries
Must be able to adhere to a strict no-shoes-in-the-home policy
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Flexibility with schedule and travel as needed
Flu vaccination required
Must be familiar with NYC waste, recycling, and composting rules
Legal to work in the U.S.
