About the Role

The Structured Finance and Alternative Investment Funds team at S&P Global Ratings evaluates credit risk for securitized products and fund structures. This role involves analyzing asset performance, structural protections, cash-flow mechanics, and stress scenarios to deliver credit opinions that aid issuers and investors in comparing complex instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and coach junior analysts and research staff, building capability in credit analysis, data discipline, and analytical tooling.
  • Strengthen team productivity by creating reusable analytical assets and contributing to lightweight automation initiatives.
  • Identify and propose workflow improvements that remove unnecessary manual steps.
  • Partner with senior team members and Data and Engineering colleagues to identify and scale AI and automation use cases.
  • Lead end-to-end credit analysis and surveillance for assigned structured finance credits.
  • Synthesize portfolio performance, market signals, and peer context into decision-ready insights.
  • Embed and validate generative AI and large language model tools within analytical workflows.
  • Prepare and review analytical inputs, reconcile metrics, and document assumptions.
  • Engage with external stakeholders alongside senior team members, translating complex data and analysis into clear, evidence-based narratives.
  • Prepare well-structured, committee-ready materials and communicate complex analytical content.
  • Apply methodology, confidentiality, and data governance requirements consistently.
  • Contribute to the responsible design and testing of automation and AI-enabled workflows.

Requirements

  • Direct experience analyzing securitized products, fund structures, or related structured finance instruments.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality analytical work across multiple credits with limited oversight.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach junior colleagues through shared standards and tools.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence through credibility and constructive engagement.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with practical fluency in AI tools and sound judgment in their application.
  • Demonstrated credit, financial, and risk analysis skills, with the ability to link fundamental drivers to forward-looking risk views.
  • Practical experience embedding generative AI or large language model tools into professional workflows.
  • Proficiency in analytical and spreadsheet tools, with a willingness to develop skills in data and automation platforms.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex analytical content into concise, evidence-based narratives.
  • High standards for analytical quality, traceability, and governance, with sound judgment on the responsible use of AI tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to automation workflow design and testing, with clear judgment on which analytical decisions require human oversight.
  • Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
  • Candidates who reach the final stage of the interview process will be asked to attend at least one in-person interview at their nearest S&P Global Ratings office before an offer can be extended.

Salary/Compensations

  • $92,000 to $121,000 USD
  • 94,000 to 128,000 CAD
