About the Role

Lead multiple software engineering teams within JPMorganChase's Commercial and Investment Bank, Public Sector Lockbox. Manage day-to-day implementation activities, identify and escalate issues, and ensure adherence to compliance standards, business requirements, and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities.
  • Set overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration.
  • Anticipate dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements.
  • Create a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritize diverse representation.
  • Lead and inspire a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Oversee technical design, architecture, and implementation to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions.
  • Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
  • Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
  • Lead team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and SDLC/TLM automation to improve delivery speed, quality, and operational outcomes, while setting expectations for human validation, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and consistent use of reusable patterns across teams.
  • Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation and support capacity unlock initiatives.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Experience leading teams of technologists, with the ability to guide and coach teams to achieve goals aligned with strategic initiatives.
  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.
  • Experience leading technology projects and managing technologists.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies, application resiliency, and security.
  • Working proficiency with development toolsets like GIT/Bitbucket, JIRA, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience leading responsible adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and delivery tools across engineering teams, including defining ways of working, measuring outcomes, and ensuring secure handling of data.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, resiliency/security implications, and governance expectations; ability to coach engineers on compliant and effective usage.
  • Must be a UC Citizen or Permanent Resident for 7 continuous years.
  • A Government Security Clearance will be required.
  • Requires Fingerprints / Credit Check / Employment History / Tax Filing History (possibly) / References (possibly).
  • Requires Proof of U.S. Legal Permanent Residence for 7 years.
