This is an advanced, self-directed position for a technician who can travel between job sites, evaluate equipment issues, make safe repair decisions, source parts, and return equipment to service with limited day-to-day oversight. Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, fittings, leaks, and pressure-related issues.
  • Diagnose pneumatic and air-system concerns, as well as draw works and winch-related operating systems.
  • Repair electrical systems using test equipment, wiring diagrams, service information, and diagnostic tools.
  • Support drill crews and pump crews while maintaining safe, professional job-site operations.
  • Source repair parts from local vendors and identify alternate repair solutions when needed.
  • Maintain the assigned service truck, tools, equipment, and work area.
  • Document labor, diagnostics, repairs, parts, and follow-up needs in electronic work orders.
  • Communicate equipment status, repair needs, parts requirements and operational blockers to leadership and the administrative team.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on diesel equipment repair experience, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • 2+ years of direct experience maintaining and repairing oilfield industry equipment, or equivalent related heavy-equipment experience.
  • Advanced working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatic systems, draw works, pumps, compressors, and heavy-equipment operating systems.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting ability, including wiring repairs, sensors, connectors, relays, charging systems, and starting systems.
  • Ability to use service manuals, wiring diagrams, diagnostic software, and electrical test equipment.
  • Proven diagnostic ability, critical-thinking skills, and the ability to think through complex problems in the field.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time, and make sound decisions with limited supervision.
  • Comfortable using a computer and completing accurate electronic work orders.
  • High school diploma or GED required; vocational diesel, heavy-equipment, or technical training preferred.
  • Valid driver license and acceptable driving record required.
