About the Role
FT Cardiac Anesthesiologist opportunity to support a busy hospital-based practice in White Plains, NY. The practice provides anesthesia services for a diverse case mix at White Plains Hospital and five Ambulatory Surgery Centers in the area. Recent enhancements include a Night Float Anesthesiologist for Labor and Delivery as well as a low frequency of overnight call. The group is composed of 45 anesthesiologists and 15 CRNAs, covering 41 anesthetizing locations daily in a care team model.
Responsibilities
- Mix of inpatient and outpatient cases in state-of-the-art operating rooms.
- Variety of cases including general, OB, regional, vascular, cardiac, pediatrics, neuro and ortho (no transplant or trauma cases).
- Cardiac and young pediatrics cases covered by specialized teams.
- Opportunity to expand regional anesthesia skills.
- Assist in directing and coordinating activities in the Anesthesia Department.
- Responsible for the medical management of patients during procedures.
- Perform pre-anesthesia assessment.
- Obtain and/or verify patient consent.
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient.
- Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
- Monitor the patient's physiological condition.
- Perform clinical interventions as needed.
Requirements
- M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine.
- ECFMG and FLEX.
- Completion of approved residency in anesthesia.
- Currently licensed as a physician.
