About the Role

FT Cardiac Anesthesiologist opportunity to support a busy hospital-based practice in White Plains, NY. The practice provides anesthesia services for a diverse case mix at White Plains Hospital and five Ambulatory Surgery Centers in the area. Recent enhancements include a Night Float Anesthesiologist for Labor and Delivery as well as a low frequency of overnight call. The group is composed of 45 anesthesiologists and 15 CRNAs, covering 41 anesthetizing locations daily in a care team model.

Responsibilities

  • Mix of inpatient and outpatient cases in state-of-the-art operating rooms.
  • Variety of cases including general, OB, regional, vascular, cardiac, pediatrics, neuro and ortho (no transplant or trauma cases).
  • Cardiac and young pediatrics cases covered by specialized teams.
  • Opportunity to expand regional anesthesia skills.
  • Assist in directing and coordinating activities in the Anesthesia Department.
  • Responsible for the medical management of patients during procedures.
  • Perform pre-anesthesia assessment.
  • Obtain and/or verify patient consent.
  • Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient.
  • Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
  • Monitor the patient's physiological condition.
  • Perform clinical interventions as needed.

Requirements

  • M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine.
  • ECFMG and FLEX.
  • Completion of approved residency in anesthesia.
  • Currently licensed as a physician.
