About the Role
Group Leaders are dynamic youth workers committed to delivering high-quality, academically aligned arts, performance arts, sports, and/or STEM instruction to elementary, middle, or high school youth. This role focuses on positive youth development and social-emotional literacy, assisting Activity Specialists and/or Teaching Artists in program delivery, safety, and administrative procedures.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage program participants to foster positive youth development.
- Prepare materials and space for various age-appropriate activities.
- Assist with planning, development, and implementation of activities and events.
- Support effective classroom management and contribute to a positive environment.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development, training sessions, and special events.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with children and/or youth in a professional setting.
- Strong ability to form and maintain positive, professional relationships with children, youth, families, and stakeholders.
- Responsible, organized, and demonstrate positive communication skills.
- Able to set an example in timeliness, attendance, and professionalism.
- Ability to relate to officials, staff, and the public courteously.
- Pre-employment screening, including criminal history checks, is required.
