About the Role

The Guarantee Engineer is responsible for assessing, coordinating, and implementing Guarantee Claims raised by ship's officers during the guarantee period. This role ensures effective communication among stakeholders and prompt resolution of priority claims.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the primary contact between ships, technical superintendents, and shipyards.
• Resolves Guarantees independently, escalating when appropriate.
• Ensures positive cashflow by reconciling shipyard refunds for MSC personnel interventions.
• Attends onboard interventions and meetings as necessary.
• Prepares monthly Guarantee progress reports.
• Maintains the guarantee claims database and coordinates onboard service interventions with shipyards.
• Prioritizes and addresses Main MSC guarantee claims requiring immediate attention.
• Arranges and leads weekly conference calls with shipyards to discuss guarantee claims.
• Plans, coordinates, and leads quarterly onboard guarantee meetings between MSC and shipyards.
• Provides leadership and guidance for timely resolution of pending claims.
• Ensures service intervention details and action plans are captured, communicated, and executed.
• Maintains good working relations with the New Building team, shipyards, stakeholders, and MSC officers/superintendents.
• Ensures lessons learned are captured and communicated to project management teams.
• Issues regular updates and reports on progress, challenges, costs, and upcoming service intervention forecasts.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comment on technical drawings.
• Good IT skills, particularly MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all management levels and across multiple cultures.
• Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects/activities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to work to tight schedules and endure challenging situations.
• Good negotiation skills.
• Proactive and strong problem-solving skills.
• The right to live and work in the UK.
• Ability to easily travel to EU Shipyards and worldwide vessels regularly.
