About the Role

The Channel Expansion Manager leads the delivery of third-party sales channels, including Independent Consultants and Resellers, across international markets. This role involves launching channels in new markets and streamlining existing, manually run channels to be scalable. It requires diagnosing channel breakdowns, building necessary processes, and fixing operational issues that limit market growth. This is an execution-focused role, acting as the link between Channel Sales and all functions critical to expansion, with success measured by actual shipped results.

Responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of improvement programs to scale early-stage, manually run channels.
  • Diagnose channel breakdowns using performance data, partner feedback, and frontline input.
  • Design, document, and implement processes for partner onboarding, deal registration, lead routing, escalation, and support handoffs.
  • Remove manual workarounds, bottlenecks, and single points of dependency that limit growth.
  • Prioritize the improvement backlog based on impact on partner productivity, revenue, and operational risk.
  • Train affected teams, document new ways of working, and confirm fixes have been effective.
  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of channel launches, translating expansion decisions into live sales channels.
  • Develop executable market plans with clear owners, milestones, dependencies, and dates.
  • Create market-ready go-to-market plans covering target partner profiles, recruitment, onboarding, and enablement.
  • Coordinate all elements required for launch, including partner collateral, training, incentive mechanics, and support models.
  • Close regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements with relevant departments.
  • Hand over new channels to day-to-day operational teams and feed learnings back into the global playbook.
  • Define operational workflows for the channel, including onboarding, deal registration, quoting, commission, and contract administration.
  • Partner with Sales Operations, Finance, and regional teams for implementation.
  • Define reporting for leadership visibility into partner pipeline, activation, and productivity.
  • Surface risks to channel targets early.
  • Act as a single point of coordination for channel expansion across various departments.
  • Secure stakeholder commitment and hold them accountable for deliverables and dates.
  • Identify and resolve blockers, escalating with recommendations when necessary.
  • Broker trade-offs between competing functional priorities and communicate progress, risks, and results.
  • Contribute to market-level pricing, commission structures, and incentive models.
  • Research market and competitor channel programs, providing insights and business cases.
  • Develop new ideas into briefs that frame opportunities, options, commercial cases, and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales operations, business operations, programme management, or channel-related roles.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing commercial processes from scratch.
  • Experience improving processes that are not working.
  • Track record of diagnosing operational problems and delivering fixes that have lasted.
