About the Role

Manages client relationships and daily administration of assigned Global Capital Markets (GCM) accounts, overseeing administrative, operational, and risk management activities. Serves as the primary client contact and collaborates with internal and external partners to achieve strategic goals, sustainable earnings growth, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor administrative and operational systems for assigned accounts to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Review and comment on operative documents and agreements for assigned accounts.
• Coordinate with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Audit to monitor risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Research and resolve account-related issues to maintain client satisfaction.
• Collaborate with external parties to structure and close GCM transactions.
• Complete account administration activities, including cash flow execution, fee billing, reporting, and tickler processing.
• Participate in sales calls, prepare fee proposals, and evaluate fee suitability.
• Manage client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and represent GCM at closings and client meetings.
• Identify opportunities for revenue increases based on transaction knowledge and fees charged.
• Implement approved fee adjustments per established controls.
• Provide coverage and support for other Relationship Managers as needed.
• Represent GCM and lead departmental projects and corporate initiatives.
• Assist management with business product and process development.
• Supervise and mentor less experienced associates.
• Adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.
• Identify and escalate risk-related issues to management.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain internal control standards and implement audit points and regulatory requirements.
• Complete other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years’ client service experience in Global Capital Markets products or markets, OR a combined minimum of 6 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years’ client service experience in Global Capital Markets products or markets.
• High level of proficiency with personal computers and pertinent software.
• Prior experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting legal documents.
• Prior experience calculating amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
• Familiarity with corporate structures, relevant laws, and regulations.
• Proven problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
