About the Role

CE Workforce Program Associates are responsible for vocational and academic instruction in a variety of fields and topics. They play a pivotal role in creating an environment where students are treated with respect, encouragement, and integrity. Associates will attend trainings, development days, staff meetings, and assist students as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work with students to improve their knowledge or career skills.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop or modify curriculum for degree or certificate programs.
• Assess student progress by grading assignments, papers, exams, and other work.
• Advise students on class selection and goal achievement.
• Attend staff meetings.
• Establish and enforce clear rules for behavior and procedures to maintain a learning environment.
• Meet with students to discuss progress, priorities, and individualized educational needs.
• Meet with students outside of class hours as needed.
• Maintain professional competence through staff development, curriculum development meetings, and other professional opportunities.

Requirements

• Must maintain a domicile in the State of Texas while employed.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Reliable transportation for local Austin area travel.
• Employees are required to report violations under Title IX and the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act.
• Select individuals may be required to report crimes as Campus Security Authorities.
• Employees may be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Skills

• Maintaining an established work schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills, including tact, diplomacy, and valuing all contributions.
• Proficiency in various spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.
