About the Role

We have fantastic opportunities for Cooks who are enthusiastic, dedicated, and ready to make a positive impact in our residents' lives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to recipes.
  • Adhere to residents' special dietary needs and restrictions.
  • Monitor all food items for temperature, taste, and quality.
  • Use various utensils and grillers to cook food.
  • Dress dishes for a great presentation before serving.
  • Keep the kitchen sanitized and orderly, ensuring all equipment is cleaned and working properly.
  • Store all food and items properly to maintain freshness and safety.
  • Check and ensure the quality of ingredients.
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders for shortages with supervisor's approval.
  • Follow nutrition and sanitation guidelines, including governmental and company policies.
  • Assist in training and orienting new kitchen staff.
  • Maintain high standards of appearance, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
  • Attend all required in-service training sessions.
  • Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene as per company policies.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Accredited food handler certification within 60 days, as per State guidelines.
  • 6 months to 1 year of proven experience as a cook.
  • Experience with cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware.
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
  • Team player with effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina.
