About the Role

Cox & Company, Inc. is looking for an outgoing individual to prepare clear, complete, and accurate working plans and detail drawings from sketches or notes.

Responsibilities

• Develop final technical drawings and schematics, verifying component dimensions, material specifications, and spatial relationships.
• Apply knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering practices, mathematics, and material science to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
• Execute design adjustments, revisions, and engineering change orders (ECOs or ECNs) as requested.
• Create high-precision designs, layouts, and manufacturing blueprints from sketches, notes, and concept models.
• Generate technical charts, diagrams, and schematics to visually represent data, routing, or architectures.
• Utilize CAD equipment and software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Draftsight) for 2D drawings and 3D models.
• Use Microsoft Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ensure drawing packages, workflows, and document management comply with internal ISO quality management system standards.
• Conduct component research to identify and source parts meeting design constraints.
• Maintain configuration control by tracking document histories and adhering to data management baselines.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
