About the Role
The Group Analyst position is integral to maximizing the Hotel’s revenues, budgets, and forecasts by supporting and liaising with sales, revenue management, and operations departments. This role is responsible for preparing and analyzing incoming group leads and revenue reports to assist the sales team in implementing yield strategies. The Group Analyst will also review and analyze reports such as STAR and Hotel Intelligence to present revenue opportunities for the hotel.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate incoming group leads and RFPs for a specific segment or group of hotels.
- Calculate and recommend optimal quotes based on historical data, displacement analysis, and current market demand.
- Attend DBR and quote leads that fall out of the established MARS.
- Manage and modify MAR Rates in the Sales System as required under the guidance of the Director of Sales and Revenue Manager.
- Ensure the sales team is always equipped with accurate, up-to-date pricing floors.
- Assist Directors of Revenue Management and Directors of Sales in preparing for hotel forecast reporting.
- Support BT Sales with market analysis reporting as needed.
- Prepare and distribute sales and revenue reports, including market segmentation analysis, production reports, pace reports, group forecast reports, and budget tools.
- Perform audits and maintenance on systems such as Sales System, PMS, and Profit Source system.
- Conduct routine GRC reviews with sales teams to include cleanup of stale pipeline and pricing review of active pipeline over needs periods.
- Monitor and analyze contracted group blocks versus actualized/picked-up rooms.
- Identify underperforming groups early and collaborate with sales managers to mitigate wash.
- Communicate upcoming cut-off dates to ensure timely entry of rooming lists and monitor potential inventory wash.
- Be knowledgeable of all special rates, promotions, room types, and hotel products.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of revenue management experience, in NYC market preferably.
- Multi-brand or multi-hotel experience.
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.
- Work schedule varies and may include working various shifts, holidays, and weekends.
- Requires ability to navigate throughout the restaurant and kitchen, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
Experience Level
- Minimum of two years of revenue management experience
