About the Role

Assist in the management, evaluation, and assessment of Mechanical and Electrical systems for projects, supporting all aspects of the project life-cycle, including schedule, budget and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all activities and information exchange with project teams, subcontractors, and owner's representatives to resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Prepare and manage the contract items list for all components, materials, and systems to ensure compliance with project schedules.
  • Evaluate, submit, and track equipment, material, and shop drawing submittals, coordinating MEP work with all trades.
  • Participate in Schedule Update meetings and provide updated contract items lists.
  • Evaluate and manage the processing of Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Support budget management, including review and evaluation of change orders.
  • Facilitate the MEP Coordination Process with the VDC Engineer.
  • Assist with design requirements, quality standards, and operations/maintenance compliance.
  • Investigate problems and develop solutions for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Facilitate management and execution of the turnover process, including start-up, testing, commissioning, closeout, manuals, warranties, training, spare parts, and tools.
  • Participate in project walkthroughs to confirm MEP work aligns with contract documents, coordination drawings, and approved submittals.
  • Coordinate with team members to develop and execute the quality control plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management plus two years related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience with mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Possess business acumen with excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational ability, and proficiency with computer applications.
  • Demonstrate the personal attributes of a team player including trust, respect, accountability, humility, integrity, commitment, discipline, adaptability, initiative, and vision.
  • Ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
