About the Role
Identify training requirements for Caterpillar product line, then schedule, develop, and present necessary courses. Travel to customer sites or branches as needed to ensure workforce development. Work independently and as a team player to prepare technical support staff for safe, efficient, professional, and comprehensive repairs.
Responsibilities
- Develop, schedule and present training courses and seminars related to Cat’s machine product line for customers and technicians.
- Remain current with the Cat machine product line through self-development and formal training.
- Communicate with other Service Training Instructors, Apprenticeship Training Coordinator, Shop Supervisors, PSM’s, sales personnel and customers to identify training requirements and develop/maintain course schedules.
- Schedule, utilize and maintain the training departments classrooms, training bay, tools, projectors and equipment.
- Perform training department administrative tasks, including preparing evaluations and reports and providing feedback to service leadership on technician development.
- Perform other duties as delegated by the Service Training Supervisor.
Requirements
- College diploma in Heavy Equipment, Truck and Coach or equivalent training and experience.
- Provincial Heavy Equipment Certification, Mechanics license or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing Caterpillar equipment, preferably with experience as lead hand, field service technician or other higher profile position.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Comprehensive computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and Caterpillar Service Software.

- performance-based or discretionary bonuses may be available
