About the Role

Tierra Farm is seeking a Production Associate involved in all aspects of production, including roasting and packing. The ideal candidate is a hardworking and motivated individual.

Responsibilities

• Load bulk products into smaller packages at required production frequency levels.
• Inspect and reject products that do not meet specifications.
• Accurately label product and finished cases.
• Roast nuts and seeds according to recipes.
• Mix nuts, seeds and/or dried fruits according to recipes.
• Maintain areas in a clean and sanitary manner at all times.
• Inspect equipment for sanitary conditions.
• Inspect product for quality and any signs of foreign material contamination.
• Contribute to team effort by performing other duties as assigned and needed.

Requirements

• Must be able to legally work in the United States.
• Must be min. 18 years of age.
• Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
• Must be able to work 40 hours per week.
• Must be able to work in a high-speed environment.
• Must be able to work mandatory overtime if necessary, including weekends.
• Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Must be able to stand for 10+ hours per day.
• Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat as needed for responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties.
• Must be able to lift 30-60 pounds.
• Must have good hand eye coordination.
• Must be able to understand unit of measure and read a scale.
• Must be able to follow recipes and instructions.

Skills

• Ability to work as a team member as well as independently.

• Our customers consist mainly of cooperatives and independently owned grocery stores that value working with an employee-owned, environmentally conscious company that manufactures its own products.
• We also sell our products directly to our customers at our retail store in Valatie and via our website.
