About the Role
The Adult Day Health Care Director oversees the daily operations of the Adult Day Health Care program, ensuring care plans are followed, staff are supervised, and the program is actively marketed to the community. This role involves policy development, inter-departmental coordination, and maintaining communication with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Serve as public relations liaison to the community and referral agencies.
- Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures.
- Coordinate ancillary departments providing services to program registrants.
- Oversee daily operations of the Adult Day Health Care program.
- Ensure care plans are executed as prescribed for each registrant.
- Supervise program staff, including work scheduling and disciplinary actions.
- Provide departmental in-services.
- Market the program to community agencies to generate referrals.
- Communicate program concerns proactively with the Administrator.
- Liaise with registrant families and caregivers.
- Complete and coordinate paperwork and prior authorizations for new registrants.
- Maintain weekly and monthly census numbers.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of UAS’s.
- Perform quarterly quality assurance audits on registrant reviews, including chart reviews and statistics.
- Present audit results to the Quality Assurance Committee.
- Oversee department expenses and compare them to the budget.
- Prepare budget and equipment requests for the following year.
- Conduct at-home interviews of prospective applicants when needed.
- Provide tours of the program area to prospective registrants and family members.
- Maintain a current transportation schedule for registrants.
- Provide registrant attendance information to the Accounting Office.
- Submit written attendance records to accounting at the end of the month.
- Ensure completion of all accident/incident reporting and follow-up.
- Participate in area and statewide Adult Day Health Care organizations.
- Attend committee meetings including Leadership Management, Multidisciplinary Care Plan, Corporate Compliance, Gan Kavod Team Meetings, Safety, and Quality Assurance.
- Liaise with Gan Kavod, Inc.
- Update program brochures and marketing materials.
- Coordinate public speaking engagements with referral sources to promote the program.
- Perform duties according to the highest ethical and moral standards and in adherence with the facility’s corporate compliance plan and applicable laws.
- Adhere to the facility’s confidentiality statement regarding protected health information (PHI).
- Perform other duties as requested by the Administrator or designee.
Requirements
- Prior management experience in marketing, human services, social work, or a health-related field.
- Leadership ability and effective communication skills, demonstrated through work history.
- Adherence to the facility’s confidentiality statement in accessing and safeguarding protected health information (PHI) of residents and employees, as necessary to perform job duties.
