About the Role

As an Account Executive on Strider’s Strategic Solutions team in Japan, you will play a critical role in expanding Strider’s presence in one of our key international markets. As a new-business-focused seller, you will build relationships and create opportunities across commercial organizations, research institutions and academia, and government, helping customers navigate an increasingly complex geopolitical landscape and make faster, more confident decisions. This role is about more than closing deals—it’s about becoming a trusted advisor who understands the distinct challenges facing organizations in Japan and connects those needs to strategic solutions that create lasting value.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full new-business sales cycle, including prospecting, qualification, discovery, solution development, negotiation, and contract execution.
  • Proactively identify, engage, and develop prospective customers to build a sustainable pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute territory and account strategies across commercial, research and academic, and government customers in Japan.
  • Generate pipeline through targeted prospecting, strategic account development, marketing programs, events, referrals, and partner relationships.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior decision-makers and stakeholders across organizations with varying missions, operating environments, and procurement processes.
  • Develop an understanding of each customer’s priorities and position Strider’s capabilities in ways that address relevant geopolitical, economic security, research security, and organizational risk challenges.
  • Lead discovery conversations, product demonstrations, executive presentations, proposals, and commercial negotiations in partnership with internal subject-matter experts.
  • Partner closely with Solutions Engineering, Marketing, Product, Intelligence, Customer Success, and leadership teams in Japan and globally to deliver a consistent customer experience.
  • Navigate longer and more complex procurement processes when working with government, public-sector, research, and other institutional customers.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity, pipeline, and forecasting information in Strider’s CRM and consistently achieve or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Share customer feedback, competitive insights, and market intelligence to help refine Strider’s product strategy and go-to-market approach in Japan.
  • Support Strider’s broader growth in Japan by identifying emerging market opportunities, use cases, partnerships, and customer needs.
  • Represent Strider at customer meetings, conferences, industry events, and other market-facing activities, with up to 20% travel as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of B2B software, SaaS, data, intelligence, cybersecurity, or related technology sales experience, with a demonstrated record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Proven success generating new business and managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from initial prospecting and qualification through negotiation and contract execution.
  • Experience developing new customer relationships and building pipeline in the Japanese market.
  • Fluent Japanese, with the ability to conduct customer meetings, presentations, negotiations, and relationship-building in Japanese.
  • Ability to engage senior decision-makers, understand organizational priorities, and connect technology or intelligence solutions to customer outcomes.
  • Experience developing territory and account strategies and independently building and managing a qualified sales pipeline.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions such as Solutions Engineering, Marketing, Product, Intelligence, Customer Success, and executive leadership.
  • Ability to adapt sales strategies and communication to customers with different organizational structures, procurement processes, and decision-making requirements.
  • Ability to communicate in English with internal stakeholders and collaborate with colleagues across Strider’s global teams.
  • Experience selling cybersecurity, intelligence, risk, data, or enterprise technology solutions.
  • Experience selling to customers across more than one sector, including commercial organizations, research institutions and universities, or government organizations.
  • Experience selling to government or public-sector organizations and navigating government procurement processes in Japan.
  • Familiarity with geopolitical risk, economic security, research security, national security, or strategic intelligence.
  • Experience helping establish or scale a technology company’s presence in the Japanese market.
