About the Role
Patient Services Leads are responsible to coordinate patient meal service and special requests and needs for the Patient Dining Program. They ensure Patient Dining Associates are trained and units are staffed to provide service, playing a crucial role in creating a culture of comfort and compassion by addressing patients' special requests and nutritional needs.
Responsibilities
- Oversee systems and processes to ensure the strategic and operational objectives of the Patient Dining Program service are accomplished.
- Supervise Patient Dining Associates, ensuring they assist patients with menu selections, meal tray assembly, delivery, and pick-up.
- Collaborate with caregivers and the culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with dietary restrictions, preferences, or special requests.
- Interact with nursing staff daily to evaluate patient meal selection, tray completion, delivery, and retrieval processes.
- Respond to patient needs promptly and communicate concerns to appropriate personnel according to department procedures.
- Assist dietitians by monitoring patients with specific dietary needs, such as those unable to eat orally, on liquid diets, or requiring calorie management.
- Adhere to facility confidentiality and patient rights policies, including HIPAA.
- Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO.
- Follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines for food safety during meal assembly and distribution.
- Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations, as well as department sanitation procedures.
- Complete all required daily, weekly, or monthly reports according to Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
- Conduct daily associate team meetings using Morrison’s branded GR8 Start Meeting guidelines and template.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1 year of previous leadership or supervisory experience required.
- Ability to communicate and read documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and operation and maintenance instructions.
- Aptitude for effectively operating the hospital’s admission, discharge and transfer (ADT) system, and other computer-based systems that manage patient care records.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and maneuver and push food delivery carts.

- Certain positions may require Florida Level 2 background screening.
