Responsibilities
- Deliver meals promptly and courteously, ensuring each resident's dietary needs and restrictions are met
- Set tables and maintain cleanliness and organization in dining areas following the kosher cuisine
- Maintain clean, orderly and safe kitchen and dining room environment by ensuring proper storage of equipment, food and accessories
- Handle food and beverage to meet the health department and RCFE (title 22) expectations
- Engage with residents and guests, answering questions about menu items and providing assistance as needed
- Assemble and deliver trays and “to-go” meals, ensuring they are presented attractively
- Clear dishes and utensils from tables during and after meal service, ensuring a tidy dining environment
- Work closely with kitchen staff to communicate special requests or dietary restrictions
- Handle more complex resident needs, addressing shift change, printing menus, reporting census, managing reservations, acting as a host(ess), supervising servers during service, rearranging assignments when absenteeism occurs, and any other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Must undergo a Physical exam, Tuberculosis Screening, resulting in a negative TB diagnosis prior to employment, and Influenza Vaccination (required during flu season: September to March)
- Must obtain clearance or exemption approval from the Department of Social Services following FBI and DOJ livescan background check prior to employment
Skills
- Proficient in written and verbal English
