About the Role
Install, maintain, and repair computer systems and equipment, providing routine technical support and checks to ensure continuous availability of the IT network, infrastructure, and equipment within SLAs.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for asset control and stock ordering of devices.
- Assist users with hardware issuing or replacement.
- Ensure issues and support requests are resolved within defined SLA.
- Ensure issues and support requests are documented within the ITSM tool.
- Send devices off to repair and liaise with the vendor.
- Adhere to processes and procedures.
- Perform mobile phone setup.
- Conduct hardware refreshes.
- Provide additional support to client and internal meeting rooms.
- Perform daily backup tape changes.
- Conduct hardware maintenance and assisted troubleshooting of Storage Controllers and Server Controllers.
- Replace Storage Disks and Server Blades as and when required.
- Perform physical daily checks of system hardware health and lights.
- Perform daily checks of Room Systems including Aircon, Fire Suppression and UPS Systems.
- Perform switch upgrades, console and backups.
- Perform cable tracing as required to troubleshoot any issues in Comms Rooms for Server/Network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot onsite wireless issues and deployments, including local surveys.
- Chaperone vendors during maintenance work and tasks.
- Participate in project work, including non-business hour deployments.
- Assist with Video Conferencing serving clients in meeting rooms.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred.
- Broad software application skills desired.
- Demonstrated ability to master new software applications and technologies.
- Prior experience with a ticketing system strongly preferred.
- Must have at least 2+ years’ experience with Windows operating systems and hardware in a computer support related setting.
- Experience working in a networked environment.
- Working knowledge of ITIL service management and its processes is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of AV systems and telecommunications would be beneficial.
