About the Role

Key role in developing and performing analysis to 'tell the story' across all product lines for EMEA’s European business, acting as key support to the Head of FP&A and Business Partnering and other EMEA Finance team members.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all necessary analysis for business across all product lines in the UK and Continental Europe, ensuring reporting meets standards and is consistent throughout the region.
  • Produce quarterly and monthly financial analysis across all product lines in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS 17.
  • Prepare quarterly reporting decks/presentations.
  • Assist with reporting to local Exco’s.
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting/analysis including local regulatory, tax and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Act as the key contact point for local regulatory reporting.
  • Be recognized as a financial expert and key contact for financial queries across all product lines for the region.
  • Communicate effectively to stakeholders, explaining difficult concepts or outcomes.
  • Use sound and practical analysis when problem-solving or improving existing solutions.
  • Recommend solutions based on identified options and demonstrated skill.
  • Coordinate annual Plan submission for Europe, across all product lines alongside Heads of Valuation for both UK and Continental Europe.
  • Lead quarterly forecast submissions.
  • Analyze plans to ensure alignment with guidance and strategy.
  • Provide regular updates to the Head of FP&A & Business Partnering.
  • Provide input to support updates and reporting for European strategy as required.
  • Act as key contact for collaboration with EMEA Expense Management Team during annual Budget submission for Europe.
  • Review direct expenses, headcounts, and IUC charges.
  • Support accurate reporting and analysis for local, regional, and global expenses.
  • Support understanding of key drivers of expense KPI (ETER).
  • Develop strong working relationships with UK COS, Heads of Valuation, Head of Operations, Managing Directors, and other key management and Excos.
  • Liaise with Head of Financial Operations and Financial Controller regularly.
  • Act as a key resource for colleagues needing input/expertise around financial information impacting their area or function.
  • Guide the use of financial information to help manage committees and other projects.
  • Perform other tasks, duties, and special projects as assigned.
  • Develop staff and talent as directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting/Finance.
  • At least 5 years post articles/training experience within a similar team.
  • Prior team management experience is useful.
  • Proven reinsurance experience is a definitive advantage.
  • Experience working with a multi-national company with a diverse geographic structure.
