Responsibilities

  • Be skilled at sorting, collecting, and distributing mail, safely and in a timely manner
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of local infrastructure, including roads, customers, and delivery receptacles
  • Ensure mail is securely in your possession
  • Process CPC's various products and services (Change of Address, Damaged Mail, Bills Delivered (BID), and others)
  • Wear Canada Post identification during delivery and ensure its visibility while delivering and collecting mail from customers
  • Lift and carry items up to 50 lb / 22.7 kg
  • Have experience in deliveries and using a motor vehicle in all weather and traffic conditions

Requirements

  • Have a satisfactory driving record
  • Possess a valid permanent provincial driver's license - Class 5 or G
  • Minimum cargo space of 50 cu ft (1,415 litres)
  • Automatic transmission
  • Power windows
  • Metal roof and an auxiliary power outlet to install a Canada Post sign and a flashing light
  • Passenger window sill between 38 inches and 45 inches from the ground and maximum interior vehicle width of 56 inches
  • Fifth door or tailgate to allow loading of oversized and bulky items (preferred)
  • Provide and maintain required automobile liability insurance for the use of your vehicle
  • Notify your insurance company of the use of your vehicle during your employment with Canada Post
  • Minimum cargo space of 50 cu. ft. (1415 litres), 100 cu. ft. (2832 litres), or 150 cu. ft. (4247 litres)
  • Pass an interview
  • Provide your resume
  • Provide a current driver's abstract dated within the last 30 days
