About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and highly knowledgeable Head of Policy & Insights to join our Strategic Marketing team. This role will drive our understanding of the education landscape and manage our engagement with the sector. The primary focus is to manage the full insights value chain, from analyzing internal datasets to generating market, competitor, and customer insights. These insights will influence internal planning and national policy discussions.
Responsibilities
- Lead research and analysis to refine Arbor’s 5-year strategic plan, assessing new market adjacencies, potential acquisitions, and long-term growth levers.
- Maintain a live view of the competitive landscape, producing regular briefings on competitor strategy and market shifts.
- Regularly brief the Management Team on external risks and opportunities, acting as a trusted advisor on sector trends.
- Serve as the primary analyst for strategic insights, interrogating datasets to uncover national trends and create proprietary value.
- Partner with Brand and Content teams to author high-quality white papers, blogs, and reports, turning data analysis into compelling narratives.
- Represent Arbor in the sector, cultivating relationships with the DfE, policymakers, and influencers.
- Monitor the DfE policy pipeline and legislative changes, interpreting their impact on Arbor’s product roadmap and commercial strategy.
- Partner with the Brand team to feed data-led stories into PR efforts, ensuring Arbor is cited in the national press.
Requirements
- You sit at the intersection of strategy, public affairs, and analytics.
- You are comfortable presenting slide decks to Management and analyzing datasets in Excel.
- Deep understanding of the UK education sector, government policy, and the EdTech market.
- Proven experience in a research, strategy, or think-tank role responsible for end-to-end data project delivery.
- Exceptional writing and speaking skills, with the ability to distill complex policy and data into clear, persuasive arguments.
- Self-sufficient and proactive, comfortable scoping, executing, and delivering projects independently.
