About the Role

IK Partners is seeking a Data Science & AI Intern to support their Operations team for a 5-month internship starting November 2026. This analysis-led role involves working directly with the Lead of Data Science & AI on data and analytical tasks for AI programs across IK's portfolio companies. The focus is on analyzing data to answer specific questions, conducting desk research for data sources, and delivering findings in slide format.

Responsibilities

Analyze operational data from portfolio companies to answer specific questions, such as identifying cost or time inefficiencies in processes.
Build ad-hoc, bounded solutions, including AI-powered pipelines for large-scale digitization of scanned text.
Find and evaluate external data sources to enhance analyses, assessing their reliability and usability.
Translate work into concise slide decks with clear charts and messages, and present them to the Lead of Data Science & AI.

Requirements

Intelligent, curious, and pragmatic with a desire to understand the 'why' behind questions and find practical solutions.
Ability to produce clear and accurate analysis.
Comfortable with data analysis and basic statistics, capable of independently addressing defined questions.
Proficient in writing Python for data work (understanding and explaining code is key).
Fluent with AI tools, specifically Claude Cowork.
Skilled in presenting findings clearly and simply in slide format.
Ability to work to written specifications, manage time effectively, and proactively flag issues.
Currently enrolled in a degree program or a recent graduate.
Minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent).
